Swebert Disilva is the Rector & Pro-Chancellor of St Joseph’s University at Bangalore. Earlier he was the Director of St. Joseph's College of Law.
Hailing from Udyavar in Udupi District of Karnataka, he had his early education in Udyavar. For his BSc, he joined St Aloysius College, Mangalore. Thereafter studied MSc at Loyola College, Chennai, and an MPhil at Madras Christian College, Tambaram. He had his theological studies at Jnana Deep Vidyapeeth, Pune, and studies in philosophy at Sacred Heart College, Satya Nilayam, Chennai.
Serving in the field of education for a long period, he is considered to be a prominent educationist.
