Viriato Fernandes, a Kargil war former navy captain, has Over 20 years of experience in Aviation Maintenance Management including MRO and front-line operations, including 8 years in Air Logistics Support/Management including Repair/Procurement Management of Aircraft Rotables. Viriato Fernandes had previously contested the 2022 Goa legislative assembly polls from the Dabolim constituency, losing narrowly to the BJP. Later on, Fernandes contested against Pallavi Dempo, an industrialist and the first woman MP candidate to be named by the BJP.
