Pius Fidelis Pinto is an Indian priest and research scholar of Christianity in Canara, India. Fidelis Pinto was born on 24 April 1960 in Gurpur, eight miles north-east of Mangalore. Pinto completed a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree in 1986 from Pontifical Urbaniana University (Rome). Later, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Doctor of Philosophy) degree in History in 1998 from Mysore University.
He has written eight books and presented 36 research papers at various events across the world. He has been awarded research scholarships by Fundação Oriente (Lisbon).
He is also the managing trustee of Samanvaya Prakashan, Mangalore.
He has been the recipient of many awards including the Jnana Nidhi Puraskar, Danti Memorial Award, Doctor T. M. A Pai Award, and so on
