Monsignor Dennis Kuruppassery was appointed the auxiliary bishop of Kannur, covering Kerala’s northern districts of Kannur and Kasaragod by Pope Francis in August 2024. He is 57 years of age and is currently the counselor at the Nunciature in Malta.
Monsignor Kuruppassery was born on August 4, 1967, in Palliport in the Kottapuram diocese. He studied philosophy and theology at the St. Joseph Pontifical Seminary in Alwaye, Kerala. He has a degree in canon law. He was ordained a priest on December 23, 1991, for the Kottapuram diocese.
He entered the Diplomatic Service of the Holy See on July 1, 2001, and served in the Papal Representations in Burundi, Egypt, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Gabon, and the United States of America. (Collected from public domain)
