Archbishop Andrews Thazhath was born at Pudukkad, Trichur on Dec. 13, 1951. He was ordained priest at Nandhikkara for the eparchy of Trichur on March 14, 1977, and was nominated auxiliary bishop of Trichur in March 2004, by Pope Jon Paul II.
He was ordained bishop on May 1, 2004, at Lourdes Metropolitan Cathedral, Trichur. He was nominated metropolitan archbishop of Trichur, in January 2007. He is the president of the Oriental Canon Law Society of India. In July 2022, in addition to his current duties archbishop Thazhath was appointed as an Apostolic Administrator of the Major Archeparchy of Ernakulam–Angamaly. (Collected from public domain)
