Ivan Fernandes (Promoter and Managing Director of Regent Technologies Limited) is a well-known name in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) for over 3 decades as he created branch automation – Quaestor in the 90s, Internet and Mobile Banking in the early 2000 and implemented these solutions in over 60 Banks in the Middle East, India, Far East, and Europe.
Ivan promoted Kanara Entrepreneurs in 2004 to promote entrepreneurship among individuals, especially students. He is the Global Chairman and has been instrumental in setting up chapters in Bangalore and Dubai and Student Entrepreneur Cells at St. Aloysius Institute of Management in Mangalore, Christ University, and St. Joseph Institute of Management in Bangalore. He is also the founder and Past President of TiE Dubai chapter. Ivan has received many awards and recognitions for his unbeatable vision, and business plan such as NRI Entrepreneur of the Year by RACHANA (Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry), in 2010, Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009 by Tecom (Dubai Government) Pearl Award and Distinguished Alumni awarded by St. Aloysius College, Mangalore in 2008 and so on.
