Ninaad Lasrado is a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School. He's trying to develop more effective mRNA vaccines against infectious diseases, including those transmitted sexually and through the respiratory system. Lasrado's research has been published in Science and the scientific reports section of Nature. He is currently working on vaccines against the H5N1 virus strain, which is known to cause bird flu and infect human beings.

He has been named in Forbes magazine’s 30 Under 30 Asia – Health Science List for 2025.

Dr Lasrado completed his PhD in viral immunology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, USA.  Throughout his career, he has received several awards and fellowships in recognition of his contributions to science.

Dr Lasrado hails from Puttur in Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka. He completed his early education at Sudana Residential School and Ambika PU College, and graduated from St Aloysius College, Mangalore.
