Dr Jacob Crasta, the Founder & Chairman, CM Envirosystems Pvt. Ltd., and Chairman - Lsquare Eco Products Pvt. Ltd, is a visionary who started his career in marketing of scientific equipment in the laboratory market of India. Today, the CME Group is a multi-location, multi-faceted company with a presence worldwide.
He is a postgraduate in Organic Chemistry from the University of Mysore (1974) and began his career as a lecturer. He is the recipient of several awards from SIATI, CCCI – Mumbai, VIJAYANAGAR SRI KRISHNADEVARAYA UNIVERSITY, BELLARY, FKCA, Kannada Karavali Vedike, etc. He, apart from being a distinguished industrialist, holds several notable positions in various prestigious organisations and trade bodies of India, such as the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industry, AIM, ASSOCHAM, FICCI, ICC India, Rotary Platinum City, Bengaluru, etc. He is also a member of the Council on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), chaired by the Prime Minister, to lay down broad policy guidelines and review the development of the MSME sector in India.
Dr Crasta was born in 1951 to Baptist and Sabina Crasta near Kinnigoli in Mangaluru. He is married to Rita, and they have two sons.
