David C. Paul is an American billionaire businessman and the founder and executive chairman of Globus Medical, a medical device (spine implant) manufacturer.
He worked as a Research Engineer in biomaterials research at Temple University. He is a named inventor on approximately 45 patents and 74 pending patent applications. He worked as an engineer for medical device giant Synthes before leaving in 2003 to start Globus. Paul took Globus public in 2012. As of February 2024, his net worth was estimated at US$1.4 billion. He also serves on the Board of Free Flow Medical, an early-stage medical device company and Cross Ventures, LLC, a real estate development company.
He is an engineer by training, receiving a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Madras. He moved to the United States from India to earn his M.S. in Computer Integrated Mechanical Engineering Systems from Temple University. He was born in 1967 in the state of Tamil Nadu. He lives in Audubon, Pennsylvania, US.
